“Heal me, and I will give you everything I own,” the millionaire pleaded. A servant’s son prayed—and his life was transformed.

Michael was alone in the garden, sitting in his wheelchair, crying the way he hadn’t cried in many years, when he heard a small voice behind him.
“Uncle, why are you crying?”
He took a deep breath and admitted,
“Because I’ll never be able to walk again, kid. Ever.”
The child placed his hand on Michael’s leg and said,
“Can I pray for you?”
The cleaner—the boy’s mother—froze when she saw the scene, as if she were witnessing something impossible.
Lucas, only six years old, lived with his mother Maria in a small room behind the enormous mansion. Maria worked there as a cleaner, scrubbing every corner of the marble-and-gold palace that looked like it came from a fairy tale—but not one with a happy ending. Its owner was Michael Thompson, 32 years old, a multimillionaire who owned half the businesses from Barcelona to Valencia.
But all that wealth meant nothing. For two years, Michael had been confined to a wheelchair after an accident doctors said was irreversible. He had enough money to buy an entire hospital, but he couldn’t buy even a single step. That afternoon, he came home earlier than usual.
He wheeled himself out into the garden, far away from everyone, and there—alone among the flowers whose fragrance he could barely sense anymore—he began to cry. This was no ordinary crying; it was the sobbing of a man who had lost everything: hope, dreams, and the desire to wake up the next day. And that was when Lucas appeared.
The boy was playing nearby while waiting for his mother to finish work. When he saw the large man in expensive clothes crying like a child, he didn’t hesitate. He approached gently and asked in an innocent voice,
“Uncle, why are you crying?”
Michael quickly wiped his face, embarrassed, but something in the boy’s eyes stopped him.
“Because I’ll never be able to walk again, kid. Do you understand? Ever.”
Lucas stayed silent for a moment. Then, without asking permission, he placed his small hand on Michael’s leg and closed his eyes.
“Can I pray for you?”
Michael wanted to refuse—to say it was pointless, that he had tried everything—but something stopped him.
Maybe desperation. Maybe simple curiosity.
He just nodded.
Lucas began to pray. Nothing unusual—no Latin, no theatrics—just simple words from the heart, asking God to help this sad man.
And then… something happened.
Michael felt something—an intense wave of warmth rising through his leg, something he hadn’t felt in two years.
In shock, he opened his eyes and tried to move his toes—and they moved. Just a little, but they moved.
“Impossible…” he whispered.
The pain that tormented him every day disappeared. He moved his ankle, then his knee. He still couldn’t walk, but for the first time in two years, he felt that maybe—just maybe—there was still hope.
At that moment, Maria arrived, terrified.
“Lucas! What are you doing here?”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Thompson…”
But Michael cut her off, still trembling with shock.
“Your son… he did something I can’t explain. But I felt it. For the first time in two years, I felt my legs.”
Maria turned pale, looking back and forth between her son and her employer, not knowing what to say.
From that day on, everything changed.
Michael couldn’t stop thinking about Lucas. It was real—he was sure of it. And if the child could truly heal him… he called Maria the next day.
“I want your son to stay here in the mansion. I’ll give him a room near yours. I’ll provide everything he needs—but I need him close.”
Maria wanted to refuse, but she was offered a higher salary, education, food, and security for Lucas. And like any mother who wants the best for her child—she agreed.
Lucas was given a large room with toys, books, and a real bed—something he had never experienced before. But over time, he realized there was a price.
Every day, Michael asked him to pray—sometimes even twice a day. It became an obsession. The child tried to explain:
“Uncle Michael, I don’t have any power. I only pray. God is the one who acts, not me.”
But Michael wouldn’t listen. He needed to believe that the child was his salvation.
And that’s when everything became complicated…
Over the years, the Renewed Hope Foundation grew to more than 60 countries, helping millions of children.
Lucas never considered himself special. He always said that he didn’t perform miracles—that it was God, faith, and love.
Michael, Maria, and Lucas still live together to this day—a family built on faith, love, and second chances.
And when Lucas is asked what the greatest miracle of his life is, he has only one answer:
“Having a father who taught me that true power isn’t in having money, but in using it to change the lives of others.”
